Chief Finance and Business Officer

The Chief Finance and Business Officer (CFBO) provides leadership and management in the finance, operations and strategic development functions. He or she serves as an integral member of our executive team.  The CFBO is responsible for planning and leading our financial activities. This includes responsibility for financial and asset management, lease management, contractual analysis and negotiations, investment relationships, institutional financing and intellectual property. The CFBO is responsible for identifying new business opportunities - new markets, new partnerships, and new ways to reach existing markets, or new product or service offerings that will better meet the needs of our existing customers and further advance our mission. The CFBO is also responsible for our operational support systems, including facilities, meeting management and metrics tied to operational strategy. The CFBO contributes to the organization’s strategic planning process.

Psychometrician

With expanding assessment programs and research activities, the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) is looking for a psychometrician to add qualitative research expertise and take on some operational work of psychometrics. This position is responsible for the activities related to the accurate and timely scoring and reporting of the ABA examinations after each examination administration and supports the research activities of the Research Committee. This position requires both strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and organizational skills, in-depth knowledge of ABA policies and procedures, extreme accuracy and strict attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills. This position will work with multiple other departments within the ABA as well as working with outside vendors and partners.

Standardized Patient (ongoing)

The Standardized Patient (SP) will portray medical case scenarios for assessment purposes as part of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). After thorough training and rehearsal, the scenarios will require the SP to respond to basic medical history questions and undergo basic physical examinations in simulated health encounters with ABA candidates. SPs will accurately and consistently portray specific types of patients, knowing the history of their present illness, past medical history, physical exam results as well as their body language and their emotional and personality characteristics. As part of a high stakes examination, SPs must effectively learn and portray the case to ensure exam standardization and reliability.
