We are seeking question writers for our exams and the MOCA Minute® pilot. Writers will be responsible for preparing multiple-choice questions from assigned content areas and will be paired with experienced question editors who will provide guidance and feedback.
Applicants must have valid, unexpired certification in anesthesiology or the subspecialty for which they are seeking to write exam questions.
Diplomates interested in writing questions for the Pain Medicine (PM) or Critical Care Medicine (CCM) Exams or PM and CCM MOCA Minute questions who were certified in 1999 or earlier must be recertified in the subspecialty.
All applicants selected as authors must be actively participating in the redesigned Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program® (MOCA®), known as MOCA 2.0®. (MOCA 2.0 launches for subspecialties in 2017).
Additionally, question writers must not participate in any activity that may constitute a conflict of interest, such as exam review courses for which a fee is charged.

All new writers must participate in one item-writing workshop in 2017 at our office in Raleigh, N.C. Question authors for subspecialty exams and MOCA Minute™ should attend the first workshop on Feb. 3, and authors for the In-Training, BASIC, and ADVANCED Exams should attend the second workshop on June 21.
