We're Seeking Question Authors

We are seeking question writers for our exams and the MOCA Minute® pilot. Writers will be responsible for preparing multiple-choice questions from assigned content areas and will be paired with experienced question editors who will provide guidance and feedback. The application deadline is Aug. 31. Current question authors do not need to reapply.

Qualifications:

  • Have valid, unexpired certification in anesthesiology or the subspecialty for which you are seeking to write exam questions

  • Actively participate in MOCA 2.0® (see requirements)

  • Do not participate in activities that may constitute a conflict of interest (exam review courses for which a fee is charged)

Application and Appointment Process (Aug. 31 Deadline):

1.  Complete the application form

2.  Submit two original questions on the appropriate submission template. If you want to apply to write questions for both ABA Exams and MOCA Minute, you'll need to submit two sample questions- one for each area. Click here to view instructions.

3.  Submit all materials to nominations@theABA.org by Aug. 31

We’ll notify selected new question writers by Nov. 1. All new writers should attend an item-writing workshop on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at the ABA office in Raleigh, N.C. A second workshop will be held in June for anyone who cannot attend in January.
