MOCA Activity Providers

Resources and requirements on how to build MOCA-approved programs for anesthesiologists

Our partnership with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) allows us to expand the number and diversity of accredited CME activities that qualify for MOCA, including the patient safety CME requirement

All accredited CME providers in the ACCME system already use the ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) to enter data about each of their CME activities. CME providers that choose to participate will use PARS to attest to their activities’ compliance with MOCA requirements. When physicians complete activities, CME providers will report learner completion through PARS to us.

Propose an educational activity

We want to collaborate with medical societies and healthcare organizations to provide activities designed to help our diplomates fulfill the MOCA Patient Safety. Medical societies and other healthcare organizations offering quality educational activities may submit a proposal for their educational activities for approval.

Submitting CME credits

Review the activity requirements and guidelines below. Then, email the completed activity application with the proposed activity module to us (moca@theABA.org).

Decision process and timeline

We review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. The review and approval process may take up to 10 weeks. During this time, we may request additional information. Once a final decision is reached, we will notify the sponsor. If an activity application is approved, the sponsor will be required to sign a written agreement that specifies the terms of the arrangement. The sponsor is responsible for the development and administration costs of the activity and must submit a final report of the diplomates’ activity completion.
