ABA Recognized as 2016 Best Place to Work

Receives Prestigious Triangle Business Journal Award

Raleigh, N.C. (Sept. 22, 2016) – The Triangle Business Journal has named the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) one of the Best Medium Companies to Work for 2016. The award acknowledges the ABA’s accomplishments in creating a collaboration-driven culture that strongly values staff’s dedication to providing high-quality service to its physician constituents.

This esteemed award honors the top 50-ranked businesses in North Carolina’s Triangle area in four size categories: small, medium, large, and giant. Winners were chosen from among nearly 200 entries based on the results of a survey voluntarily completed by employees. The Journal presented awards in the respective categories at a luncheon on Sept. 22 in Raleigh.

“It is a great honor to have been named one of the Best Places to Work in the Triangle,” said ABA Secretary James P. Rathmell, M.D. “Our staff plays a huge role in our ability to serve our physician anesthesiologists, reliably administer our assessment programs and quickly adapt innovative approaches to doing the work of the Board. They have helped cultivate a progressive culture at the ABA.”

This is the second award the ABA has won in 2016 for its use of effective workplace strategies to increase organizational and employee success. In May, the Board was honored with a 2016 When Work Works Award by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management. The award recognizes employers of all sizes and types in North Carolina and across the country.
