Setting standards and leading innovation for the practice of anesthesiology since 1938
RALEIGH, N.C. (March 16, 2020) – Last December, we invited more than 29,000 board-certified anesthesiologists registered for MOCA 2.0® to participate in an end of year survey designed to help us evaluate our Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology® (MOCA®) program. Results of this survey will be one of several tools that our Board of Directors uses to inform the evolution of the MOCA® program. Here’s a summary of what we learned from the 4,108 physicians who responded.

The mission of the American Board of Anesthesiology® (ABA) is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. The Board administers initial and subspecialty certification exams as well as the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology® (MOCA®) program, which is designed to promote lifelong learning, a commitment to quality clinical outcomes and patient safety.
