APPLIED Deadline Extended for Fellows Taking Subspecialty Exams
The Board has extended the deadline for fellows to take and pass the APPLIED Exam to Dec. 31, 2022. This extension allows the following fellows to take a 2020 subspecialty exam without first being certified in anesthesiology:
- Fellows who failed Week 1 of the APPLIED Exam
- Fellows who were unable to take the APPLIED Exam due to cancellations (Weeks 2-9)
Additionally, the standard registration deadline has been extended to the late registration date for 2020 subspecialty exams. Late registration fees have been waived this year.
If fellows choose to take a subspecialty exam this year, their exam results will remain valid until Dec. 31, 2022.
- If they pass the APPLIED Exam before Dec. 31, 2022, we’ll report their subspecialty exam results to them when they become certified in anesthesiology.
- If they do not pass the APPLIED Exam before Dec. 31, 2022, their subspecialty exam results will be invalidated. They will then be required to be certified in anesthesiology to be eligible to register to retake the subspecialty exam.
