ABA Vice President, Mark T. Keegan, MB, BCh, and Secretary, Alex Macario, MD, MBA, shared the latest news and information from the ABA at the Society of Academic Associations of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine’s (SAAAPM) Annual Meeting Nov. 11.
The SAAAPM Annual Meeting is designed for academic anesthesiologists in Chair, Core Residency Program Director, Subspecialty Fellowship Program Director and Residency Program Administrator positions. Annual Meeting programming works to educate and share information that will enable academic anesthesiology departments to improve management and care.

When presenting notable ABA updates, they included changes to the 2023 Policy Book, the launch of the ABA PrePay program, an initial agenda for the 2023 Program Director Meeting, the redesign of the Program in Focus newsletter, recent Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and the newest ABMS standards for continuing certification.
