Join Our Continuing Certification Committee
During the Fall 2022 Board meeting, the Board of Directors established a new standing committee, the Continuing Certification Committee. We are currently looking for members to join this committee.
The committee is responsible for proposing requirements, policies and processes for diplomates to maintain ABA certification and subspecialty certification. Additionally, they are charged with the development and oversight of a vision for the ABA’s Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) continuing certification program. By incorporating diplomate members, there is a greater opportunity to incorporate broader diplomate input into the development of the MOCA program.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Holding a time-limited ABA certificate
- Participating in and meeting all MOCA requirements
- A commitment to advancing the specialty and willingness to represent their colleagues’ opinions regarding the future of the MOCA program
- Anesthesiologists employed outside of academic practice are particularly encouraged to apply
Diplomate committee members will be appointed to serve up to two three-year terms. Terms will begin April 2023. The committee will meet virtually approximately three times per year. The first meeting is planned to take place in person.
If you are interested and believe you are a good match for this new committee, please complete this application form by March 1, 2023.
