Ibrahim Ibrahim, M.D., candidate for certification

“With the knowledge and experience I’ve gained… I have a wide depth of medical and procedural knowledge in the OR that all patients require while undergoing surgery.”

My name is Ibrahim Ibrahim, M.D., and I am a senior anesthesiology resident at the University of Illinois in Chicago. I was originally born in New Orleans, LA, to Palestinian immigrant parents and have also lived 10 years of my own life in Palestine as well. Experiencing limited opportunities in Palestine, I decided to come back to the United States to pursue a career in medicine. I currently live in Chicago, where I am undergoing anesthesiology residency training. My last year of residency is coming to an end, and I am in the process of obtaining board certification by preparing for the ADVANCED and APPLIED exams.

I value board certification as I believe that all physicians should have a firm understanding of current guidelines when treating their patients. Board examination and certification serve as a declaration that I am capable and confident in treating my patient’s medical needs at their most vulnerable times.

I chose to pursue anesthesiology because I valued the wide skillset this field has to offer, especially during emergency situations. With the knowledge and experience I’ve gained, I am adequately prepared to help resuscitate patients in critical condition, and I have a wide depth of medical and procedural knowledge in the OR that all patients require while undergoing surgery.
