Our 2024 Continuing Certification Experience Survey Results

Our bi-annual Continuing Certification Experience Survey found that board-certified anesthesiologists view certification as a marker of excellence, the gold-standard of knowledge and skills in the specialty, and highly valued by colleagues, patients, employers and the public.

The 2024 Continuing Certification Experience Survey was distributed to all board-certified anesthesiologists in early December 2024. A total of 1,207 diplomates responded to the survey between Dec. 2, 2024, and Jan. 28, 2025.

The responses received provide a wealth of information about the experiences and opinions of diplomates regarding their board certification and continuing education. Key takeaways include the following:

• 78.49% agree that MOCA Minute is highly valuable for its role in keeping medical knowledge current
• 73.35% of respondents are satisfied with the value MOCA brings to their practice
• 66.5% of respondents find board certification to be very valuable to their practice

As part of the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, we will utilize this data to inform the ongoing development of a seamless continuing certification system. This strategy focuses on the accessibility and convenience of continuing certification, enabling optimal delivery of patient care.
