Introducing Our Inaugural Resident Advisory Group

We are proud to announce the launch of our inaugural Resident Advisory Group, a new initiative designed to elevate resident voices and strengthen engagement across the anesthesiology community. The launch of this group directly supports our Strategic Plan initiative to engage trainees and programs early, recognizing the importance of building career-long partnerships with anesthesiologists beginning in residency.

Following a nationwide nomination process, ten residents were selected to serve as founding members of the group, representing a diverse range of programs, geographic regions and clinical experiences. The inaugural Resident Advisory Group is:

Anna Arakelyan, M.D.
Alexandra Brady, M.D.
Alexis Cash, D.O.
John Choi, D.O.
Lukas Hall, M.D.
Mercedes Alaina Harvey, D.O.
Kian Lari, M.D.
Abigail Schirmer, M.D.
Jasmine Tuteja, M.D.
Parisa Ziarati, M.D., MPH

These individuals will collaborate with ABA staff through periodic virtual meetings and special projects to help shape the future of resident-focused communications, resources and outreach.

By establishing a formal advisory group composed of residents from diverse areas of practice and clinical experience, we are creating a structured channel to understand evolving communication needs during training, gather feedback on the resident experience through the certification process and co-develop formative assessment tools. The group’s contributions will help shape resident-focused communications and engagement strategies, ensuring that the ABA remains responsive to the challenges and opportunities faced by trainees today.

We are excited to partner with these outstanding residents and look forward to their insights as we continue to enhance our support for the next generation of anesthesiologists.
