ABA to Attend ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2025

Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 2, 2025) – The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) is presenting and exhibiting at ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2025, the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ annual meeting to connect with board-certified anesthesiologists, residents and medical students Oct. 10 through Oct. 14 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

During their presentation Saturday, Oct. 11, 2:45-3:45 p.m. CT, entitled “Creating a Wider Door: The ABA’s Alternate Entry Pathway (AEP) Program for International Medical Graduates,” Executive Director Michele Pore, MBA, CAE, and Board Director Vivek K. Moitra, M.D., will share with attendees the rationale for launching the AEP program, how it works, the number of applicants and acceptances in each pathway, and the current and potential impact of the program on IMGs and their clinical practice in the U.S. This session will also aim to provide important information about the program and offer participants the opportunity to get their specific questions answered. Board-certified anesthesiologists can receive one CME credit for attending and find a full list of ABA-approved patient safety courses being hosted over the course of the meeting here.

Representatives from our physician engagement and credentialing teams will be on-site at booth 956 throughout the conference to answer questions regarding board certification and MOCA requirements. Attendees will find valuable resources on board certification at the booth, including a new MOCA trifold and a comprehensive resident booklet.

We will be distributing two new sock designs available for board-certified physicians, as well as a refreshed design specifically for residents and fellows. Board-certified anesthesiologists can also pick up a pin at the booth to proudly display their board certification.

The ABA looks forward to attending the conference and engaging with board-certified anesthesiologists, residents and medical students while providing answers to questions and emphasizing the value of board certification.
