2026 MOCA Registration Now Open

2026 MOCA registration is now open in the ABA GO portal. MOCA enables continuous learning, meaningful assessment and professional growth while supporting safe, high-quality patient care throughout a physician anesthesiologist’s career. Annual registration provides access to MOCA Minute, ongoing tracking of certification requirements, and tools that help board-certified anesthesiologists stay informed and on track.

Board-certified anesthesiologists are eligible to continue certification if they hold an active ABA certification in anesthesiology and/or a subspecialty, participate in MOCA activities, and pay the annual registration fee.

CME for MOCA Minute: What’s New for 2026

Beginning with the 2026 MOCA program year, the ABA and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) are introducing updates to the reporting for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ earned through MOCA Minute. These changes are based on diplomate feedback and are designed to streamline access to CME credits and improve alignment with annual MOCA requirements.

  • CME credits will now be reported quarterly, rather than in a single annual upload.
  • Board-certified anesthesiologists can earn 2.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per quarter, for up to 10 credits annually, by answering all 30 MOCA Minute questions in the intended quarter.
  • Participation requires opting in during annual MOCA registration.
  • ASA members may participate at no additional cost.
  • Non-ASA members will pay a $40 processing fee per quarter in which all 30 questions are completed, replacing the previous flat annual fee.

To maximize CME opportunities, board-certified anesthesiologists are encouraged to register before March 31, 11:59 p.m., ET, the end of the first calendar quarter.
