Dr. Gaiser is the anesthesiology residency program director and professor of anesthesiology at Yale University School of Medicine. He previously served as the program director for the Department of Anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky.

His academic interests include education and obstetric anesthesia, while he focuses his clinical work on the care of the pregnant patient. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and on the Committee on Continuing Certification (3C) of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Dr. Gaiser serves on the following ABA committees: BASIC Exam Committee, Continuing Certification Committee, Credentialing Committee, Research Committee
