ABA Awarded 2016 Gold MarCom Award for Branding

Raleigh, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2016) – The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) has awarded the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) a 2016 gold MarCom Award for its recent branding initiative, which included the launch of a new logo, website and brand identity.

The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. With approximately 6,000 entries each year, the winners range from individual entrants to Fortune 500 companies.

“The ABA is a mission-driven organization that advances the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. Our marketing and communications team has worked hard to develop a brand identity that evokes the high quality that is synonymous with our certification programs,” said ABA Secretary Deborah J. Culley, M.D. “This well-deserved honor is reflective of the terrific work the team does on behalf of the Board.”

AMCP, an international organization consisting of several thousand marketing, advertising, communications and creative professionals, set the standard for excellence in the marketing and communications industry and judges the entries. Historically, about 15 percent of entries won the top award and around 20 percent the Gold Award. Approximately 10 percent were Honorable Mention winners.
