ABA returns to in-person assessments

Between Dec. 2020 and Nov. 2021, with the help of our dedicated Board of Directors, staff, examiners and volunteers, we pilot tested and administered the Virtual APPLIED Exam (VAE) to 3304 candidates across 18 exam weeks. This virtual structure allowed us to ensure that all 2020 and 2021 candidates were able to complete their examinations in a safe and secure format during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ABA and our Board of Directors have been continuously monitoring the state of COVID-19 as we have worked toward our milestone goal of a return to face-to-face examinations. We are pleased to announce that we are once again conducting in-person examinations and have now held two weeks of our APPLIED Exams in our newly renovated assessment facility, The AIME Center.
