FAER/ABA Announce New Co-Sponsored Research in Education Grant  11/27/2018

The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) are co-sponsoring a FAER/ABA Research in Education Grant to advance the careers and knowledge of anesthesiologists interested in the key elements of education in anesthesiology—curriculum, instruction and assessment.


ABA Research Finds Link between MOCA® Performance and Medical License Actions  11/8/2018

A study published in the October issue of Anesthesiology provides evidence that board-certified physician anesthesiologists who met Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology™ (MOCA®) program requirements were less likely to be disciplined by a state medical licensing agency. The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) began issuing time-limited certificates in 2000 and launched the MOCA program in 2004 to help its certified physicians maintain and enhance their knowledge throughout their careers.


ABA Elects New Board Officers  10/8/2018

We are pleased to announce the elections of Brenda G. Fahy, M.D., as the Board’s president and David O. Warner, M.D., as the vice president. Both directors officially began their roles following the fall 2018 Board meeting. The Board reelected Deborah J. Culley, M.D., as secretary and Santhanam Suresh, M.D., as treasurer.
